Like most, I first got to hear producer Trevor Horn's music with the Buggles album: The Age of Plastic (1980). The tracks Video Killed the Radio Star, The Age of Plastic and Elstree, blew me away. Trevor Horn had learned to use the new technology of the 80s and by hook or by crook got us to hear its first fruits. He was Captain Reverb, could play and could write a good pop song.
His credits are numerous. I have been fond of learning from his work and the way he uses space in his lavish productions. Check out Yes' Owner of a Lonely Heart from the album 90125 (1984). |
