A songwriter from Cleethorpes who can groove. When his band Heatwave's single Boogie Nights came out in 1977, I got seriously happy feet. Temperton has a pop style I sometimes find extremely attractive. His songs Thriller (1982), Yah Mo B There (1983) for James Ingram & Michael Macdonald with Quincy Jones, Spice of Life (1983) and Mystery for the Manhattan Transfer and Sweet Freedom (1986) for Michael Macdonald set the standard for me in pop song excellence.
